Instant Inspiration

Sometimes, beauty isn't jumping out of your trunk like that asian guy in the movie "The Hangover". Sometimes it is hiding in between and under things. When I feel this way, I often remember a professor in college. I asked her, "What should I paint?" and she told me that, "Beauty is usually right there in front of you, you don't need to search very far." She told me to pick 3 random objects and just look at them and then paint them....I think sometimes humans are tuned into Taj Mahal magnitude of beauty, are you? Here is a little poem to go with today's post and a picture to inspire. Hope you find some minuscule beauty today.-A

XVII (I do not love you...) -Neruda

I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz,
or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off.
I love you as certain dark things are to be loved,
in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms
but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers;
thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance,
risen from the earth, lives darkly in my body.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where.
I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride;
so I love you because I know no other way

than this: where I does not exist, nor you,
so close that your hand on my chest is my hand,
so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.

Neruda! Once you have read him, you carry your heart and the world around you in a synchronized vibration.
