Ok, I can no longer ignore my obsession with this show and its boldness. I am equally intrigued by the interiors as I am with the characters. Do you see that couch?that bed? When I was talking about design/color bravery yesterday, this is what I meant. Here's the catch, bravery in regard to interiors means taking a risk with your money and money is an emotional monkey these days. It means plunking down hard-earned cash for a salmon-color couch, like the one in the Drapers's living room. A salmon-color couch you LOVE but you think you might regret in 5 years VS. a mushroom color microfiber sectional sofa that you know you will hate for the entire 20 years. Comment and let us know if you have ever taken the leap, got the risky thing, and loved it. Inspire us!

my mother used to have a salmon couch. I'm still waiting for the $$$ to buy the risky stuff I crave. For now, I do it with shoes.
is this the little girl everyone says Kate reminds them of?
Well, um, I have a mushroom colored, microfiber couch. I'm rather fond of it, but it does leave the room feeling like plain noodles.
I want so badly to be risk...the $ rub is a drag. I'm craving a lovely, mid-century couch - any color will do! I wish so badly I could work on this show - the sort of job you can't believe you're getting paid for - to scrounge around Hollywood's prop houses, decorating...I miss California & even Hollywood. ~Carol

That's my new favorite color quote.
