The magic continues in Gail's yard. She told Anne and me that she didn't have any time to work in her garden this year. Well, she could have fooled us. The garden was full of color and texture and clever details.

What a great fence detail. I'm not sure if it spins,
but there it was on top of one of the pickets.-R

Can you tell what the pickets are? You got it-old garden tools. It sort of reminds me of the Wizard of Oz. Simple, simple and so inexpensive and what a great way to recycle old shovels.-R

Hi, While we are on the subject of entries, I wanted to share two very different WELL DONE entries; The one on top is a beautiful, large one on Mercer Island that I helped design last year. The second one is in the Bryant neighborhood, we spied it while house hunting with a friend. They both take my breath away. When cream colors and whites are used deliberately on walls with a rich contrasting color like black or blue, the effect is almost always elegant and classic. My favorite whites to use right now are "Icing" by Devine Paint and "Acadia White" by Ben Moore (except if you live near the water in which case use "Sail Cloth " by Ben Moore)

Speaking of entries my own is currently crowded with crap. Deep Breath. Sunday, time to eat pancakes and clean the entry.

The owner, "I chose a grey plaster for the pool, which gives the water a deep, rich blue color, very Mediterranean. I asked the landscaper to use a lot of symmetry and create an allee which he did with three trees on either side. The hedge is boxwood and I have three dogwood trees on either side, which I love. I was going for an elegant, classic feeling." Well Done Pool.
