You can do this: remove turf, build beds, install dirt, install gravel, plant. It's hard work, but it is worth it. Your reward--a beautiful garden, no more lawn to water, and veggies for you and all your friends.--Rebecca
I'm seriously jealous. When I bought my house in northeast Seattle fifteen years ago, I had two very large veggie beds; no more, the sun has disappeared behind the forest in which I live. I now grow moss. Think I can snag some veggies from McGregor's garden here?

ooh, where is this? I love the raised beds that aren't really that raised. I like these so much more than the typical 2x6 construction on the sides.
