More Beauty: Watching Meredith work. Austin, TX.
Thanks again to my new, old friend Caroline Turek for turning me on to the artist Meredith Pardue. Caroline recently bought three, yes three, of Meredith Pardue's paintings. I'm not sure if she has to live on Ramen for the next month, but if so, it was worth it. This work is so lovely. What a joy to be able to look at it everyday.
Here's a clip of Meredith painting one of the pieces that Caroline just purchased. Congratulations to both of you.

Thanks to all the rain. Bryant.
Well, Anne outdid herself. How do I follow a week of beautiful men? Here's how: I'll share pictures of beautiful gardens that got that way because of all the rain and cool weather we had in Seattle these past 272 days--when the temperature did not go above 75 degrees.
Today's featured garden is on a double lot right across from Bryant Elementary. I walk in this neighborhood all the time and never saw it until recently. It makes me think of "The Secret Garden" http://www.online-literature.com/burnett/secretgarden/--R

Benny Feilhaber, Blog-Jectified (term, copyrighted by me)
I wouldn't feel good about myself if I didn't actually tell you something about him. I mean after all, I can't just sit here and "blog-jectify" this young man. I was thinking last night that I may be feeling a little weird about Men week on the blog... But I have to tell you, that feeling went away when I saw that we had some of the highest hits on Monday and Tuesday....

'Feilhaber was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.[1][2] He was raised in his father's Jewish religion.[3] His paternal grandfather emigrated to Brazil from Austria in 1938 to escape the Nazi regime.[2] Feilhaber was six years old when his family moved from Brazil to settle in the United States and spent approximately eight years in theNew York City suburb of Scarsdale where he played for the local soccer team, the Scarsdale Lightning. In 1996, he led the team and won the New York State Cup for the U-12 division.[4] He attended Northwood High School in Irvine, California where he was a standout midfielder on the school’s soccer team. After graduating in 2003 he played college soccer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he became a mainstay in the Bruins' midfield. At UCLA he was roomates with future national team-mate Jonathan Bornstein. Feilhaber made the team as a walk-on, rather than being recruited with a scholarship offer. After his second year at UCLA Feilhaber was called up by the U.S. U-20 national soccer team to play in the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands."- Wikipwedia

FATHERS DAY, MALE APPRECIATION WEEK.
This week I have decided that pretty interiors and fancy gardens are a snore bore.. I think even Rebecca will agree with that. (By the way HAPPY 1 YR ANNIVERSARY to welldoneblog!) So I decided that this week we are celebrating hot men. Yup. That's it. Tune in here for pictures of hot men.
If you are curious... I was inspired by the Sartorialist's posts this week from the runways in Milan.
Let's just be easy on ourselves people. It is the last week of school here in Seattle. We are all freaking out a bit. We need the type of inspiration that doesn't say "hey here's a new job to do around home or hey your house and garden aren't pretty enough.." Your home is beautiful as it is! Let's all take a deep breath and be happy with things as they are!.
and in the spirit of evoking true primal inspiration and respect for beauty.. I give you well done men.

Good fences make good neighbors. Wedgwood
This week on Well Done Blog we are going to look at fences. The choices are endless. I like this combination of traditional wood mixed with industrial metal.--R

More on Grey
Thanks to high school friend Caroline Turek Antonelli for turning me on to this artist: http://www.sorengallery.com/Steven-Seinberg.html. She was inspired by Anne's Friday post.
This painting is called "Waiting for Spring." It's hard to believe Steven Seinberg is not from Seattle. --R

Kussick Res. Before and During.
I visited LB's place later in the week. Dietz Design is still not done here.We need to plant a garden, grade the yard, and get LB some new patio furniture (that she didn't get as a gift for her birthday, but that is another story).

Rosita's Restaurant. Before and After.
Here are before and after pictures of the container garden I planted at Rosita's Restaurant in Greenlake. In two months the ornamental grasses will be taller and the lobelia will be spilling over the edge. This garden will look great by mid-summer.--R

Plant Shopping at Vibrants.
I told you orange was in. Day 2: I went to the wholesale plant store and purchased plants for two jobs in the rain. Fortunately K.C.'s son, Carson, is back from school and helped us load the plants into the van and truck. I do love visiting the plant store, but I am really sick of this weather.--R

So many pots, so little time.
This week I'm going to share photos from last week's landscape design adventures. I love my job.
On Monday I went on a field trip to the wholesale pottery store--AW Pottery in Lynnwood. AW has a great selection of pots and garden accessories. I purchased pots for two clients and scoped out the merch. Hot tip--fiberglass and orange are in.--R
